Ein Mitglied des englischen SoD Forum hat am Wochenende mit Andy gesprochen, ich mache mir dieses mal nicht die Mühe das zu übersetzen, hier also der Post:
I had a few beers with him today (his was NON alcohol) and we had a good chin wag. He is in better spirits obviously than he was a few months ago and he has lost 10 stones in weight - that’s 140lb for our American friends.
He will be doing an interview later this week or next I believe for a couple of national newspapers so they will be a little more in depth than what I have written.
Basically because of his recent ill health combined with his weight loss his throwing arm has become weak. No activity has caused muscle loss and he is looking to build that up again. He has been playing albeit spasmodically, and he has got to alter his outlook and tackle practice from a new angle. In short, it is almost like starting again for him because everything is different. He is hopeful in getting back to his best but it will be a long road as he is still under the Doctors and his immediate plan is to get the all clear before he can start a plan of fitness and regular practice.
Although he was not one for pounding the board, now that is exactly what he must do in the long run.
He is optimistic though which is good to see and he thanks everyone for their concerns, calls, and get well messages.
